A day in Columbus

So we, the family decided to go spend the day in Columbus yesterday. It is only about 20 minutes from Starkville, but still got us out. Daisy needed some more dog food so we started out by going to PetSmart. We left PetSmart, but not without tears. Tristen wanted to adopt a cat, but we told her not today.

I knew there were some water spray parks over in there so I thought it would be fun to take the girls since there is nothing like that here in Starkville. We found one and we were the only people there. I could not believe that on such a warm day no one else was there, oh well more fun for us. Emory pretty much slept the whole time we were there so even though we brought her swimsuit she stayed in her clothes in her stroller.

After a while at the splash park we went to find what is called the Riverwalk. It's a 2 mile walk down by the river. It was real nice. Paved nicely, had lights throughout the path that I'm sure made it real nice even at night. We started to walk down the path thinking that it would loop back around and make the 2 miles. Well we should NOT think anymore. We walked 2 miles to find out it came to a dead end. All we could do was laugh. That meant another 2 miles back to the van. A total of 4 miles with both girls and myself wearing flip flops, and me in a dress. We planned on grilling chicken out for dinner, but since we walked for 2 1/2 hours and were still 20 minutes away from home we ended up picking up fast food. The girls chose healthy McDonalds and Will and I chose even healthier TacoBell. All in all a pretty good day out to Columbus.
